Using the script: You can either use addaction or a keyhandler to execute the script. Every time you execute earplugsPutIn. sqf it will toggle the noise level between 5% and 20%. When you execute earplugsTakeOut.sqf the sound will be set back to normal.

Many thanks for this. While most of the Arma 3 servers I play on have an earplug server side script this takes care of those that don't and I have also been able to add a much needed hotkeyed mute switch using C:\Windows\SoundVolumeView.exe /Switch "arma3.exe".
